Description

Our guild meets every 2nd Thursday at 7pm New Russia Township Lodge 46300 Butternut Ridge Road Oberlin, Ohio 44074 The Lorain County Piecemakers is a non-profit organization founded in 1979. It is the mission of the guild to promote and support the education of the art and craft of quilting and related fiber arts, adding to the traditions and history, by developing and encouraging new concepts and motivating each other to achieve excellence in our craft. Some of the activities which the guild is also involved in include Quilts of Valor, which gifts quilts to soldiers injured in the line of duty, Home of the Brave, which gifts quilts to family members of fallen soldiers, and local charities that support women and children in need. We also work with the local prison to help supply the inmates with thread and fabric, so they can learn skills to take with them upon their release. We also teach children to sew.
